Welcome to Miles of Smiles
My name is Kimberley. I am a Teacher, Running Enthusiast and Abbott World Marathon Majors Six Star Finisher from Bonnie Scotland.
I haven’t always been a runner but I have always had a passion for sport, fitness and health. I have a degree in Sport and Exercise Science and since training for my first marathon in 2010 running has changed my life in an all encompassing way. Running is my happy place. It makes me feel good and thanks to a wee pair of running shoes I’ve made lifelong friends, become part of the incredible running community and travelled to run in places and races I’d never have thought imaginable.
In 2017 I set off on the biggest adventure of my life; leaving my job, selling my house, it’s contents and my car to fit life in to a backpack and head off on a solo trip around the globe with the aim of training for and completing six of the largest and most renowned marathons in the world. Starting in London and finishing at the iconic Boston Marathon, April 2018 my dream of completing all six Majors in one calendar year became a reality and I earned lifetime membership to the Six Star Finishers Club.
This blog started as a way to document my training, racing and travel adventures…the highs, lows and all the fun in between.
I hope to share my genuine love of all things running and physical activity in an honest way on the journey to becoming the best runner I can be. I’d love it if that inspires you to find your own happy place and self-belief and get moving too.
